Hello and WelcomeMy name is Anna and I am the Founder of BRoW4
In 2014, whilst I was a volunteer for Magpas Helimedix, which is my local air ambulance. I wanted to organise something that would bring in more money and awareness for them. I did the usual cake stalls, tombola and raffles all of which brought in the much-needed donations, but then decided to do something totally different. So, with the help of a group of friends and family, we organised an event where contestants could choose to bike run or walk around two tracks - 5km or 8km in Ferry Meadows, Peterborough.Saturday 25th July 2015 saw the first BRoWforMagpas. As a result of the successful organisation of the event, and the wonderful turnout,we were approached by a representative of Dogs Trust, and asked would we consider organising an event for them. After speaking with the now newly formed committee, and changing our name to BRoW4 we decided that organising a dog walk for Dogs Trust would be a great idea. Sunday 3rd January 2016, BRoW4Dogs Trust took place with a refreshing walk for people with and without dogs around Earith in Cambridgeshire. The escorted walk around and through the village with a return to the village hall for hot homemade refreshments was another success for BRoW4.Saturday 30th July 2016 saw our second successful BRoW4 Magpas Air Ambulance. This year we introduced dogs, and a third track, which now meant contestants could choose to do 5km, 8km or 12km. We also invited stalls to come and join us so that this could be a family fun filled day. We were pleasantly surprised with the Ice cream van, burger van, and paddle boats who gave their time freely, and the bouncy castle, face painter and Norris Museum who also came. Sunday 1st January 2017, BRoW4 Canine Partners this time, and it was a damp walk around the village Earith in Cambridgeshire. And with the very kind donations of doggie goodies and a beautiful cake that resembled a dog under a blanket, plus the homemade hot refreshments, another successful event was held by all.Sunday 25th June 2017, BRoW4 Your Local Air Ambulance held at Ferry Meadows in Peterborough was another great success and enjoyed by all who attended and/or took part.On Saturday 30th September 2017 we held the Gildenburgh Water Underwater Challenge, raising money for theRoyal National Lifeboat institution. This was the first time we had organised anything on this scale and was supported by teams of scuba divers from as far away as Scotland. It was a fantastic success and the RNLI benefitted with a cheque in excess of £600.
